Pack Your Bags
Two weeks before departure
Lay out everything you are planning to take with you. By doing this you have time to rethink and remove items you will not need.
Create a packing list
Follow the 5,4,3,2,1 packing method: 5 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 accessories, 2 pairs of shoes (1 comfortable/walking and 1 nice pair), 1 swimsuit.
Organization
Shoes first, stuff underwear and small items inside shoes.
Roll softer garments and fold stiffer ones.
Place a dry cleaning bag on top of clothes.
Double-bag toiletries and place them with books, cameras, chargers, etc. To the middle of the suitcase for maximum protection.
Never check in essential items or valuables, place them in your carry-on.
Leave toiletries in your suitcase when returning home for the next trip.
To Travel is to Live…
While I cannot pack for you (I wish I could), I can however give you tips on packing efficiently.
Airline baggage policies
Know your airline’s policies and weight limits.
Use a travel scale to weigh the suitcase before leaving for the airport.
Tsa 311 rule
Refers to the core components of liquids you can bring in your carry-on bag. Each liquid must be 3.4 oz. Or less placed inside a clear quart-size plastic bag. Only one bag per passenger is permitted. Toothpaste is considered a liquid. Any amount larger than 3.4 oz must be packed in your suitcase.
Most Important
Do not forget ID/passports, tickets, itinerary, phone chargers, adapters, prescriptions, pen, reusable water bottle for hydration (empty before TSA), money and credit card.
